THERE YOU ARE!

Volunteer:  Head Usher

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. Philippians 2:13.

Steps that will help you in your role as Head Usher:
Steps that will help you in your role as a Welcome Center Volunteer
  • Arrive 30 minutes before the service begins
  • Check in at the Welcome Center to pick up your name tag and make sure offering plates are available
  • Check bulletin and Pastor Edward to see if there are any special instructions or assignments for the morning (will there be a collection after the message for benevolence, etc.)
  • Be available to answer questions
  • Open doors for anyone coming into or leaving during the service
    • Remember that it's dark and hard to visually adjust if people arrive late
  • After offering, gather the filled plates and get a deacon to go upstairs to the counting room; count cash by denominations, mark on blank paper with date, and leave in offering plate locked in the ushers room.
  • Be available to open doors and greet people as they leave at the end of the service if needed
