Volunteer: Safety
While safety of everyone is always your main priority, you are one of the more visible first impression examples that visitors and members see. Smile and be helpful when you can. Here are additional steps that will help you in your role as a Safety Volunteer:

And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 1 John 3:23
- Attend all safety team meetings and trainings and familiarize yourself with both buildings and exits
- Arrive about 30 minutes early -- This gives you time to communicate with other team members for that service or event
- Wear your lanyard (or safety team shirt) to help people identify who they should turn to in the event of a medical or other emergency situation
- Maintain visible presence during church services and events
- Respond to medical emergencies until first responders arrive
- Be aware of doors and any questionable activity
- Remember your training: Stay calm, talk in a normal voice, avoid escalating any situation
- Protect/guide the congregation in the event of a building emergency (fire, tornado, electrical issue, intruder, or even loud argument)
